REALITY CHECK: HST a provincial issue? Then why did the Federal Liberals vote it in?
April 26th, 2011 - 11:04pm
Last night in the Kapuskasing debate Liberal candidate Francois Cloutier said the HST was a provincial issue. If it’s only a provincial issue maybe Mr. Cloutier could explain why every federal Liberal present in the House of Commons voted with the Harper Conservatives to bring in the HST and make your life less affordable.
Unfortunately the Conservative candidate Ray Sturgeon did not even attend the debate so couldn’t discuss his party’s Harper Sales Tax.
New Democrat Carol Hughes voted against the HST as did her entire NDP caucus. The New Democrats know that the middle of a recession was no time to bring in an extra tax on the family budget.
But don’t take our word for it. Their voting records speak for themselves.
