Hughes to facilitate round table on labour shortage in White River
September 25th, 2014 - 1:53pm
Ottawa – A critical local labour shortage will be the topic of a round table facilitated by Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, MP Carol Hughes in White River on Friday.
Representatives from federal and provincial agencies along with municipal representatives will discuss the shortage with employers who are unable to fill vacant positions.
White River’s economy has been on the rebound since the White River Forest Products Mill opened. Now the community is telling Hughes employers are experiencing significant and persistent difficulty finding employees.
The meeting will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and be held in the Council Chambers, 102 Durham St.
