Kapuskasing – Brendan Kenny is a pillar of the community and much deserving of recognition, according to Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, MP, Carol Hughes.
The MP presented a 60th Anniversary commemorative medal to Mr. Kenny on Thursday in White River at the St. Patrick’s Day Bazaar.
“It is an honour to be able to recognize people who make their community a better place,” said Hughes. “There are many people who do this kind of community building, but I am limited by the small number of medals I was allowed to direct.”
Mrs. Hughes received the nomination for Mr. Kenny in recognition of his long history of volunteerism and organizing.
“It is a great privilege to be able to recognize someone who has dedicated himself to this community,” said White River’s Mayor, Angelo Bazonni.
“People like Mr. Kenny make communities vibrant so it’s is nice to be able to shine the spotlight on them, said Hughes”
The following short description was provided to support the Mr. Kenny’s nomination:
Brendan devotes himself to bettering the lives of others, especially those in need. He has been and continues to be extremely involved in the community; with a history as a volunteer fireman, with the Lion’s Club, the Legion, school boards, his church and community. He prides himself in helping seniors.
